Terms

Terms of Service

The ground rules for using wiiwid.com, paying us, subscribing to a plan, buying a domain and working with us through the client portal.

The agreement

These terms are between you and What It Is? What It Do? LLC (“WIIWID”, “we”, “us”). They cover your use of www.wiiwid.com and everything you can do here: read the site, send us a message, pay an invoice, subscribe to a plan, buy a domain, or use the client portal. By using the site you agree to them.

We’ve written them to be read, not skimmed past. If anything is unclear, email support@wiiwid.com and we’ll explain.

Using the site

You’re welcome to use the site for its intended purpose. Please don’t:

  • try to get into accounts, files or admin areas that aren’t yours;
  • interfere with the site, overload it, or scrape it in ways that hurt it;
  • upload anything malicious, unlawful, or that you don’t have the right to share;
  • use the site to spam, harass or mislead anyone;
  • copy the site or our branding to pass yourself off as us.

If someone breaks these rules we may limit or end their access to the site, the portal or our services.

Client services and project agreements

Design, development and creative work we do for clients is governed by each project’s own written proposal or agreement — the document that sets out the scope, price, timeline, deliverables and who owns what. These terms don’t replace that document. If the two ever disagree about a project, the project agreement wins for that project.

Where a project agreement is silent on something, these terms fill the gap.

Accounts and the client portal

When we set you up in the client portal we issue you an access code. Keep your access code safe. Anyone who has it can see your project and its files, and we’ll treat what they do as done by you. Don’t share it, and tell us right away if you think it has leaked so we can issue a new one.

  • Only upload files you own or have permission to share. You keep your rights to them; you give us permission to store and use them to do the work.
  • We may remove anything that is unlawful or puts the site or other clients at risk.
  • We may close portal access when a project ends. Ask us before then if you need copies of anything.

Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe’s secure checkout pages. We never see or store your card number. Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy apply to the checkout itself.

  • Currency. Prices are in U.S. dollars. Your bank may convert them and may add its own fees.
  • Taxes. Unless the checkout says otherwise, prices don’t include sales tax, VAT or similar charges. If a tax applies to you, you’re responsible for it.
  • What you see is what you pay. The amount is shown on the Stripe checkout page before you confirm.
  • Payment links expire. An invoice or payment link can only be used once and may stop working after a while or once it has been settled. If a link has expired, ask us for a fresh one.
  • Mistakes. If you’re charged twice for the same thing, tell us and we’ll refund the duplicate in full.

Subscriptions

Our plans are billed monthly or yearly, whichever you choose at checkout.

  • They renew automatically. At the start of each billing period we charge the card on file, and the plan keeps going until you cancel.
  • Cancel any time. Use the manage link in your receipt or on the plans page, or email us. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and you won’t be charged again.
  • No partial-period refunds for unused time, except where the Refund & Cancellation Policy says otherwise.
  • Price changes. If a plan’s price changes, we’ll tell you before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you’d rather.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will retry and we’ll let you know. If it still can’t be collected, the plan may be paused or cancelled.

Domain sales

We list domain names for sale on the domains page. Here’s how a sale works:

  • Instant checkout. Names marked for instant checkout are paid by card through Stripe. The domain is held for you from the moment you start checkout; if the payment fails, is cancelled or the checkout expires, nothing is charged and the name goes back on the market.
  • Transfer after payment settles. Once your payment has settled we contact you (that’s why Stripe asks for an email and phone number) and personally handle the transfer with you. You’ll receive a transfer authorization code or a push into your account at the registrar, and you’ll need an account there to accept it. Transfers can take a few days to complete depending on the registrar.
  • If we can’t transfer it, you get your money back. If for any reason a domain you’ve paid for can’t be transferred to you, we refund the payment in full. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy for the timeline.
  • Escrow and marketplace sales. Names without instant checkout complete through an escrow service or a marketplace such as Afternic or Sedo, under that service’s terms, so the transfer is safe for both sides.
  • Estimated values are estimates. The values shown next to listings come from an automated appraisal model and are for reference only. They aren’t a promise of what a name is worth or will sell for.
  • Once transferred, the sale is final, as the Refund & Cancellation Policy explains.

Intellectual property

The site, its design, its writing, the WIIWID name and logo, and our mascots belong to us. You can read and share links to the site freely; please don’t reproduce the design or branding elsewhere without asking.

Who owns the work we create for a client is set by that project’s agreement. Anything you upload or send us stays yours. Where one of our apps has its own terms, those apply to the app.

If you think something on the site infringes your rights, email us with the details and we’ll look into it promptly.

Third-party services

Parts of what we offer depend on other companies: Stripe for payments, domain registrars and escrow or marketplace services for domain transfers, and the providers listed in our Privacy Policy. Their terms apply when you use their services, and we aren’t responsible for how they operate.

Disclaimers

The site is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we can’t promise it will always be error-free or online. Blog posts and other content are general information, not professional advice. Domain value estimates are automated and not guarantees. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties that aren’t stated in writing in a project agreement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses — things like lost profits, lost data or lost business — arising from the site or our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

Disputes

If something goes wrong, email us first. Almost everything can be sorted out with a straightforward conversation, and we’d always rather fix a problem than argue about it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “last updated” date at the top, and for anything significant we’ll say so plainly here. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. Your project agreement is unaffected by changes to these terms.
